ESB Case Study

This week, I had the privilege of facilitating a creative workshop for leaders in Strategy, Innovation, and Electrification in ESB.

One of many things I enjoy during these creative sessions is watching people move in and out of flow states — and how quickly drawing can get them there.

What always strikes me is how differently each person responds to the same prompt. At first, they don’t see their visual output as particularly unique — until they look around and realise everyone’s interpretation is different.

That moment of recognition shifts something. In recognising the value of their own creativity, they start to see the value in everyone else’s too.

Once this shift in mindset happens,

Individuals recognise that their contributions matter.
Ideas are shared more freely, not assumed to be obvious.
Unexpected connections occur, and fresh insights emerge.

The collective impact?

A richer exchange of ideas.
A deeper level of engagement.
Surprising insights that wouldn't have surfaced in isolation.
